French Door & Side-by-Side Models

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Tape measure
  • Pliers
  • Water line kit (for ice maker models)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, away from heat sources and direct sunlight, on a solid, level floor.
  2. Remove Packaging Materials: Remove all shipping materials, tape, and protective films from the refrigerator interior and exterior.
  3. Level the Refrigerator: Adjust the leveling legs to ensure the refrigerator is level from front to back and side to side for proper door operation.
  4. Connect Water Supply (if applicable): Connect water line to ice maker and water dispenser using GE-approved water line kit.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 60Hz, 15A dedicated outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
  6. Clearance Requirements: Ensure proper clearance: 1" at back, 2" at top, and 1" on each side for proper ventilation.
  7. Initial Setup: Allow refrigerator to stand upright for 4 hours before plugging in. Set temperature controls and run initial ice maker cycle.
Warning: All installations must be performed by a qualified installer to ensure proper operation and maintain warranty coverage.

Troubleshooting
