Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location with adequate clearance.

  1. Position refrigerator: Allow 1-inch clearance at back and sides, 2-inch top clearance for ventilation.
  2. Level the unit: Adjust front leveling legs so doors close properly and unit is stable.
  3. Connect water line: Shut off water supply; connect approved ¼-inch copper or braided supply line to water valve.
  4. Plug into dedicated 120V AC outlet.
  5. Turn on water supply and check for leaks.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people to move. Ensure floor can support weight.

First-Time Setup

After installation, allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.

  1. Power on: Plug in; interior lights should turn on when doors open.
  2. Set temperatures: Press TEMP pads to set refrigerator to 37°F and freezer to 0°F.
  3. Activate ice maker: Lift ice maker arm to ON position; discard first batch of ice (about 24 hours).
  4. Reset filter indicator: Hold FILTER RESET button for 3 seconds after installing new filter.
  5. Enable Turbo Cool/Freeze if needed for rapid cooling after loading groceries.

CAUTION! Do not overload shelves. Allow air circulation inside compartments.

Temperature Settings: Fridge 34°F to 46°F; Freezer -5°F to 5°F. Turbo Modes: Press TURBO COOL or TURBO FREEZE for rapid cooling; automatically turns off after 6 hours or when target temp reached. Filter Indicator: Flashes when filter needs replacement; reset after changing filter. Dispenser Lock: Press and hold LOCK 3 seconds to disable dispenser pads.

Using the Dispenser

External dispenser provides water, cubed ice, and crushed ice.

  1. Select type: Press WATER, CUBED ICE, or CRUSHED ICE pad.
  2. Dispense: Press glass against pad or hold pad for continuous flow.
  3. Adjust ice size: Crushed ice setting produces smaller ice particles.
  4. Child lock: Enable to prevent accidental activation.

Tip: Run water for 3 minutes after filter replacement to clear air from system.

Storage & Organization

Optimize storage with adjustable components.

  1. Adjust shelves: Lift front of shelf and slide out to reposition or remove for cleaning.
  2. Door bins: Lift up to remove; can be repositioned to accommodate tall items.
  3. Crisper drawers: Control humidity with vents; use for fruits and vegetables.
  4. Freezer baskets: Slide out for access to items in back.
  5. Meat drawer: Dedicated drawer with lower temperature setting for meats.

WARNING! Do not place hot food directly into refrigerator; allow to cool first.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior. Use mild soap and water; avoid abrasive cleaners.

Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; use stainless steel cleaner for fingerprints. Interior: Remove shelves and bins; wash with warm soapy water. Dispenser: Wipe with soft cloth; clean ice bin monthly. Condenser coils: Vacuum every 6-12 months (located at back or bottom front).

CAUTION! Do not use sharp objects to remove ice. Never use hot water on frozen surfaces.

Filter Replacement

Replace water filter every 6 months or when indicator light flashes.

  1. Locate filter: Inside refrigerator, upper left corner.
  2. Turn old filter counterclockwise and pull straight out.
  3. Insert new filter (remove protective caps); align arrows and turn clockwise until it stops.
  4. Run water dispenser for 3 minutes to flush.
  5. Press and hold FILTER RESET button for 3 seconds to reset indicator.

Note: Use only GE RPWFE or approved replacement filters.
