Key Features
Fast Ice Production
Produces up to 4.5 pounds of ice per day, ensuring you always have ice available for beverages and entertaining.
Crescent-Shaped Ice
Creates unique crescent-shaped ice cubes that melt slower than traditional cubes and fit perfectly in glasses.
Automatic Shut-Off
Built-in sensor automatically stops ice production when the storage bin is full, preventing overflow and waste.
Filtered Ice
Works with GE water filtration systems to produce clean, fresh-tasting ice from filtered water.
Easy Access Bin
Front-access ice bin makes it easy to retrieve ice without opening the entire freezer compartment.
Quiet Operation
Designed for quiet ice production with minimal noise during harvest and filling cycles.
Ice Production Cycle Explained
Fill Cycle
Water valve opens to fill ice mold with precise amount of water
Freeze Cycle
Water freezes in mold for approximately 90-120 minutes
Harvest Cycle
Heating element warms mold to release ice cubes into storage bin
Sensor Check
Bin fullness sensor checks available storage space
Reset
System resets and prepares for next production cycle
Standby
Enters standby mode when bin is full or ice maker is turned off
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Ice maker not producing ice | Water supply issue, ice maker turned off, clogged filter | Check water supply, ensure ice maker is ON, replace water filter |
| Small or misshapen ice cubes | Low water pressure, clogged water line, faulty water inlet valve | Check water pressure, clean water line, inspect inlet valve |
| Ice tastes or smells bad | Old water filter, contaminated water supply | Replace water filter, check water source quality |
| Ice maker leaking water | Clogged drain, faulty water valve, cracked ice mold | Clear drain tube, check water valve, inspect ice mold |
| Ice cubes stuck together | Infrequent ice use, freezer temperature too warm | Use ice regularly, check freezer temperature setting |
| Ice maker making noise | Normal harvest cycle, ice cubes stuck in mechanism | Normal operation noise, check for jammed ice cubes |
Common Error Indicators
- No Ice Production: Check water supply, filter, and ice maker power switch
- Water Leak: Inspect water connections and drain tube
- Small Ice Cubes: Verify adequate water pressure (20-120 psi)
- Cloudy Ice: Replace water filter, check water quality
- Ice Maker Not Cycling: Check freezer temperature (should be 0°F/-18°C)
- Ice Tastes Bad: Replace water filter, flush water system
