Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure location meets clearance requirements.

  1. Position refrigerator: Allow 1-inch clearance at back and top, 2-inch clearance at sides for ventilation.
  2. Level the unit: Adjust front leveling legs using a wrench so doors close properly.
  3. Connect water line: Use ¼-inch copper tubing or GE-approved water line kit (see section 7).
  4. Plug into dedicated 115V, 15-amp AC outlet.

WARNING! Refrigerator is heavy; use two people to move. Ensure floor can support weight.

First-Time Setup

After installation, allow refrigerator to stabilize for 24 hours before adding food.

  1. Set temperatures: Press TEMP pads to set refrigerator to 37°F and freezer to 0°F.
  2. Activate ice maker: Lift wire signal arm to ON position; discard first two batches of ice.
  3. Reset filter indicator: Hold FILTER RESET button for 3 seconds after installing new filter.
  4. Organize interior: Adjust shelves and bins to suit storage needs.

CAUTION! Do not block air vents inside refrigerator. Allow space for air circulation.

Controls and Settings

Control panel located inside on upper right wall. Includes TEMP pads, FILTER RESET, TURBO COOL, TURBO FREEZE, LOCK, and ICE TYPE buttons.

Temperature Settings: Press TEMP pads to cycle through settings (34°F to 46°F for fridge, -5°F to 8°F for freezer). Turbo Cool/Freeze: Rapid cooling for up to 24 hours then returns to previous setting. Filter Reset: Hold 3 seconds after filter replacement. Lock: Press and hold 3 seconds to disable dispenser and control panel. Ice Type: Select cubed or crushed ice.

Connecting Water Line

Required for dispenser and ice maker operation.

  1. Turn off main water supply and connect approved ¼-inch water line to cold water pipe.
  2. Route line to refrigerator location (avoid kinks).
  3. Connect line to water valve at back of refrigerator (follow diagram in manual).
  4. Flush line by dispensing water for 3 minutes into a container.

Using the Dispenser

Dispenser provides chilled water and ice without opening doors.

  1. Water: Press glass against water paddle; release to stop.
  2. Ice: Press glass against ice paddle; select cubed or crushed with ICE TYPE button.
  3. To dispense without glass: Press and hold paddle manually.
  4. Child Lock: Press and hold LOCK button for 3 seconds to disable dispenser.

WARNING! Do not use with containers that cannot be easily removed. Keep area clean to prevent mold.

Food Storage Tips

Humidity-controlled crispers: Adjust slider for low (vegetables) or high (fruits) humidity. Meat drawer: Store meats on lowest shelf in sealed containers. Door bins: Best for condiments, juices, butter. Freezer organization: Use bins for frozen vegetables, meats, ice cream.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning interior. Use warm water and baking soda solution (2 tbsp per quart) for interior surfaces. Exterior: Clean with stainless steel cleaner and soft cloth. Dispenser area: Wipe with damp cloth; clean ice bin monthly.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects on surfaces. Never clean glass shelves with hot water.
