Countertop & Over-the-Range Models

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Measuring tape
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Drill with bits
  • Pencil
  • Stud finder

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, away from heat sources and with access to electrical outlet.
  2. Measure Space: Ensure adequate clearance - minimum 3 inches on sides, 12 inches above for ventilation.
  3. Prepare Mounting Surface: For over-the-range models, locate studs in wall and mark mounting bracket positions.
  4. Install Mounting Bracket: Secure mounting bracket to wall studs using provided hardware.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 120V, 60Hz, 15-20 amp grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords.
  6. Mount Microwave: Lift microwave onto mounting bracket, ensuring it locks securely into place.
  7. Ventilation Setup: Configure ventilation to vent outside (recommended) or recirculate using charcoal filter.
  8. Test Operation: Test all functions including turntable, lights, and ventilation fan.
Warning: Installation of over-the-range models should be performed by qualified personnel. Countertop models require no installation.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Microwave won't start Door not closed properly, control lock activated Ensure door is fully closed, check control lock setting
Uneven cooking Turntable not rotating, improper placement Check turntable operation, center food on turntable
Sparking inside Metal object inside, damaged waveguide cover Remove all metal, check waveguide cover for damage
Vent fan not working Vent mode setting, blocked vent Check vent settings, clear any obstructions

Error Codes
