Specifications & Dimensions

Unpacking & Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the cooktop from the carton and place it on a padded, stable surface.
  2. Remove all packaging materials, tape, and protective film from the glass surface and controls.
  3. Inspect the unit for any signs of shipping damage. Check the glass for cracks or chips.
  4. Verify all parts are present: Cooktop, Installation Template, Mounting Clamps, Wire Connectors, Vent Duct Adapter.

CAUTION! The glass surface is heavy. Use two people for lifting. Do not lift by the control panel or downdraft vent grille.

Site Preparation & Cutout

The countertop must be level, sturdy, and able to support at least 50 lbs. A flat, clean surface is required for proper sealing.

  1. Using the provided paper template, mark the cutout area on the countertop.
  2. Ensure there is a minimum of 2 inches clearance from the rear wall and sides to adjacent cabinets.
  3. Cut the opening carefully using a jigsaw. Smooth any rough edges.
  4. Clear the area beneath the cutout for the downdraft duct and electrical connection.

NOTICE: Do not install over a dishwasher, refrigerator, or other heat-producing appliance unless a properly insulated divider is installed.

Electrical Requirements & Connection

WARNING! Electrical connection must be performed by a licensed electrician.

  1. A dedicated 40-amp, 120/240-volt circuit with proper grounding is required.
  2. Use 8-gauge copper wire only.
  3. Install a suitable power supply junction box within the cabinet space below the cutout.
  4. Connect the wires from the house supply to the terminal block on the underside of the cooktop: Black (L1), Red (L2), White (Neutral), Green (Ground). Tighten terminal screws securely.
  5. Secure the cable with the provided strain relief clamp.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Apply Sealant: Run a continuous bead of non-hardening sealant (not provided) along the underside of the cooktop's outer rim.
  2. Position Cooktop: Carefully lower the cooktop into the countertop cutout from above. Ensure it is centered and sits flat.
  3. Secure with Clamps: From below, attach the provided mounting clamps to the brackets on the cooktop frame. Tighten the screws to pull the cooktop down snugly against the countertop. Do not overtighten.
  4. Clean Excess Sealant: Wipe away any sealant that has squeezed out onto the glass surface with a damp cloth.

Ventilation System Setup

The downdraft fan activates automatically with the rear cooking elements or can be turned on manually.

  1. Connect the flexible duct (not provided, max 35 ft) to the outlet on the bottom of the cooktop using the duct adapter.
  2. Route the duct to an approved exterior wall or roof vent cap. Use the shortest, straightest path possible. Avoid sharp bends.
  3. Ensure all duct connections are secure and airtight with foil tape.
  4. The downdraft fan assembly is internal; no user adjustment is needed.

Initial Power-Up & Control Setup

  1. Ensure all packaging is removed, the unit is secured, and the electrical connection is complete.
  2. Restore power at the circuit breaker.
  3. The control panel will beep and the display will light up briefly.
  4. Set the clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use the + and - pads to set the correct time.
  5. Test the child lock: Press and hold the LOCK pad for 3 seconds. An icon will appear. All controls should be disabled. Repeat to unlock.
