Built-in & Freestanding Models

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Tape measure
  • Water line connection kit
  • Drill with hole saw attachment

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location near water supply and electrical outlet. Ensure proper ventilation and level surface.
  2. Prepare Water Connection: Turn off main water supply. Install water supply line with shut-off valve. Use 1/4" copper tubing or GE-approved water line.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 115V, 60Hz, 15-amp grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
  4. Position the Ice Maker: For built-in models, ensure proper cabinet dimensions. For freestanding models, maintain 2-inch clearance on all sides.
  5. Connect Water Line: Connect water supply line to inlet valve at rear of unit. Use compression fitting and ensure no leaks.
  6. Level the Unit: Adjust leveling legs to ensure unit is perfectly level from front to back and side to side.
  7. Initial Startup: Turn on water supply, plug in unit, and initiate first ice-making cycle. Discard first three batches of ice.
Warning: Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Improper installation may void warranty and cause water damage.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Ice maker not producing ice Water supply issue, filter clogged, unit too warm Check water supply, replace filter, ensure ambient temperature below 110°F
Small or misshapen ice Low water pressure, mineral buildup, faulty water inlet valve Check water pressure (20-120 psi), clean system, check inlet valve
