Built-In French Door Refrigerator

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Tape measure
  • Drill with bits
  • Pliers

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, away from heat sources and direct sunlight, on a solid, level floor.
  2. Remove Packaging Materials: Remove all shipping materials, protective films, and transit bolts from the refrigerator.
  3. Prepare Cabinet Opening: Ensure cabinet opening meets required dimensions with proper clearance for doors and ventilation.
  4. Connect Water Supply: Connect water line to refrigerator water inlet valve for ice maker and water dispenser. Use only GE-approved water line.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 120V, 60Hz, 15-20 amp grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
  6. Level the Refrigerator: Adjust the leveling legs to ensure the refrigerator is perfectly level from front to back and side to side.
  7. Test Operation: Allow refrigerator to run for 24 hours to reach proper temperature before loading food.
Warning: Professional installation is recommended for built-in models to ensure proper operation and maintain warranty coverage.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Refrigerator not cooling Power issue, dirty condenser coils, door not sealing Check power supply, clean condenser coils, check door seals
